Dr. Tinsworth is creating a brighter future, one smile at a time. Dr. Tinsworth approaches every patient as if he or she is the only patient. Each patient benefits from his years of experience and continuing leadership roles in advancing orthodontic techniques and the use of technology to improve health care.

After receiving his DMD degree from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, Dr. Tinsworth served in the US Air Force in the areas of general dentistry, oral surgery, prosthetics, periodontics and anesthesiology.

Soon after receiving his orthodontic certificate from the LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans, Dr. Tinsworth relocated to Bradenton to open Tinsworth Orthodontics. Dr. Tinsworth has been a civic leader in the community. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists. He is constantly striving to improve the lives of the people around him.

Leadership

Dr. T. has held many leadership roles with his last being president for the Southern Association of Orthodontists (SAO). The SAO is one of the eight regional groups of the American Association of Orthodontists. He has also served SAO over the years as senior director, secretary/treasurer and on various executive committees including Governmental Affairs Committee, Program Committee in charge of Staff Roundtables, Speaker's Training and Ad Hoc Committee on Orthodontic Assistants.

Professional Highlights

Fight for Fluoride. Dr. T. was a major catalyst for fluoridation in the Bradenton and Manatee county water supplies.
Dental Hygiene Program at MCC. Dr. T. served on the task force to establish a dental hygiene program at Manatee Community College. Dental Hygiene School Website
Served on Government Affairs/Contact Dentist. The Florida Dental Association Government Affairs works with the State legislature on issues that effect dentistry.
